have i mentioned we are mid-kitchen remodel? this kitchen is gonna rock once we are finished! (whenever that may be...)
Next week is the last week of our Spring GOTR season. This is from their community project this week. They painted birdhouses and flower pots for someone they wanted to thank- coaches, teachers, parents, running buddies and others!
AND... of course this weekend is The Flying Pig! Super pumped and excited and looking forward to a great race experience! My step-sister is running her first half-marathon, my step-dad is walking the 10k to celebrate his recent weight loss, one of my co-coaches is running her first full-marathon, and two of Jon's old co-workers are running this as their first half-marathon as well. (Pretty sure Jon infected them with the running bug before he started his new job last month...) I am just so excited about the entire thing!
May will stay busy with a trip to Mississippi next week to see my youngest brother before he leaves for Portugal with his new wife (they married at the courthouse in February), where they will live for at least the next 2 years. I'll fly in Friday night at midnight, just in time for the GOTR 5k to start 9 hours later at Paul Brown Stadium. After that I'll squeeze in a trip to the DPVA Designers' House and Garden Show with my mom, and then take off for another weekend in Athens for none other than the Nelsonville Music Fest!! Our second year attending, and Holly and I have turned it into as big of an ordeal as possible... we buy new outfits and everything. It's perfect. :)
After that Jon and I will have 2 more out-of-town trips for the month-- one (hopefully) to visit his parents, and another to Lexington for a friend's wedding. Seriously... could May be any busier? Oh, and yes, I'll also have new job orientation, and begin a new job this month while continuing to watch the kids as well. I've accepted a position as the Teen Program Coordinator at one of our local YMCA branches... we'll spend the summer meeting and preparing for the 2011-2012 school year, and then kick it off in August once school starts. I should hopefully start back to school about then as well, in UC's Organizational Leadership program to complete the associate's program. Busy, fun, & happy. =)
