Holiday Activities.

I hope all of you had a very Merry Christmas.  Also that all of you received my holiday card on time! I'm just going to share some of the things I have been doing the past 4 days.

- Christmas Eve was by far the best day I could have had.  We woke up early, made some coffee and decided to hike up Camelback Mountain with Bear.  We started at 10am and were surprised by all of the people hiking this mountain.  We wore green and red for the hike and put a little stocking on Bears leash so he could be in the Holiday spirit also.  People loved him! It was so great to see so many families hiking up this mountain.  There was a tiny little girl I'm guessing she was 4 and she was dominating this hike.  Camelback is not an easy hike at all.  Bear was also a huge surprise for us because he didn't need any assistance getting up the big rocks.  We recently let him off his leash but there were way too many people to let him do that.
-We made a huge Christmas meal for the both of us.  Including a ham, sweet potatoes, baked mixed vegetables and we made some cupcakes using only Paleo specific ingredients. I have had some good meals in my life but I was very proud of this one we put together.  I couldn't have asked for a better Christmas meal.

-I went on a bike ride by myself on Sunday.  Cody and I went for one earlier that week and within 5 minutes of the ride I hit a piece of glass and get a major flat tire.  It sounded like a gun shot had went off.  I was about to throw a little fit but realized that something far worse could have happened, a flat tire so what, I'll get over it.  We were going to get me practicing on some hills but I got to do that on Sunday by myself.  I never thought cycling would be so relaxing but my mind just goes off into another world while I'm on my bike.  It feels great when the sun is shinning on me and I've got the perfect playlist rocking on my Ipod. Which bring me to my next topic...

-When we saw DMB in Vegas the most amazing band opened up for them.  I was a little you know not fully aware of what was going on, I guess that's what Vegas does to you ;).  Well anyways the opening band was called 'The Head & The Heart'. I kept saying to Cody while they were playing that we have to get their cd at the end of the concert.  At the end of the concert it was nearly impossible to even get out of the Planet Hollywood concert hall there was no way we could track down where they were selling the cd.  So I kinda forgot about them.  Well my super thoughtful boyfriend surprised me with their cd for Christmas.  I can not for the life of me stop listening to them.  Please please check them out.  I rarely accept new bands into my music world but my arms are wide open for this band. Holly, you will love them if you give them a chance!

-One last thing to add.  My parents are going to come visit me in April with special guests my grandparents.  It will be a big Thompson adventure.  My dad is finally back to himself and very eager to get out here to see what Arizona is all about.  I have so many places I want to show my family.  The furthest West my mother has been is Indiana! I think this terrain will be a big shock for her.  I can't wait to show them everything that I have been trying to explain to them.  They will appreciate every minute they spend out here.  My grandparents have been to California, Hawaii, Nevada but never Arizona.  I plan on taking vacation time while they are here so I can show them as much as I possibly can. Might I also add that Vegas is one of the things my parents want to see.  I might have to page my mom multiple times in the casinos, she can get pretty wild ;)

I have really come to love cycling and cannot wait for Spring time, although we just had our first snow..to hit the roads again! It is just amazing to be out there on your own and free with the wind in your face, I love it! Thats how I ended up in Nebraska on my last big ride.
