...after that it's time to TAPER and recover until race day. that will be a happy day! In approx. 6 weeks I've put about 70 miles on my feet and they are feeling good about it. By race day it will be closer to 100. You can't even tell I missed 2 1/2 weeks of training (toe infection= gross, and then a nice head cold). =)
i hope everyone is doing well and that spring has found you wherever you are! Some of us have had better spring weather than others so far, but it looks like spring might be ready to share itself with everyone now. ;)

I remember the pig last year. For some terrible reason, it is the day after Derby. I was in Louisville as is common for Derby Day, and came home on Sunday, the day of the pig. It rained the whole way home. I had been drinking all day the day before because thats what you do in KY on Derby Day. But coming home and not being able to get near my apartment and having to park and lug everything I took with me was not what I was looking forward to that day. It was a rough 4 block walk back to my apartment. BUT there were tons of runners and cheerers on the streets, which also made the walk back challenging. Good Luck!! Hope the weather is better this year!
ReplyDeletePS we should look into a marathon somewhere that we can all do together. I have done a half, but I would like to do a full, ONE time to say I did it.
haha-- if i didn't love the flying pig weekend, i would surely hate it! it really does shut down the city for a few hours, seriously inconveniencing anyone who isn't wanting to be a part of the hoopla. thankfully, i love it, and don't mind the madness. ;)
