Hi friends! Sorry I have been absent for so long, but I have not had internet since January.
I am about 4 weeks into my new job and LOVE it! I really enjoy getting to work with kids again. I am only working 20 hours a week right now so I have plenty of time, with nothing to do but explore! From my new apartment I have a view of Pikes Peak, which is breath taking! I love walking out on my balcony and being able to see the mountains, especially a huge well-known 14er like Pikes. My apartment is nice, it is a nice 2 bed, 2 bath with a full kitchen and washer and dryer. But it is on the 3rd floor, which sucks especially at 6 in the morning when Max wants to go out. We are at 6,000+ feet, so walking up those 3 flights was a stuggle at first. Max loves being able to lay in the sun on the balcony, he is so funny. He has also learned that he is not allowed to bark out there, which is nice because I get annoyed when other peoples dogs are outside just barking away.
I have started running again. I made it 2.2 miles last night, which is the most I've done consecutively since I have been here. It does not sound like much, but with the elevation chnage it is slow progress! I tried to go for a bike ride the other day and after I got out on the road, I realized I needed air in my tires (due to elevation changes and temp drops the air pressure in them has decreased). So I only rode 5 miles and came home. I am hoping this weekend to take my bike to the Garden of the Gods and ride around the park loop. It is a beautiful (free) park with amazing rock formations, and only 15 minutes away.
But things are great here! Other than the fact that I still do not have furniture (should be here any day). I currently have some dishes Jeremy has lended me, an air mattress and a couch I purchased here in my apartment. Oh well and a cable box now, but no TV to watch it on. A month with no TV really has not been all that bad. Sure I am behind on news and current events, but I honestly thought it would have been harder. I will post pictures soon.
I can't wait to come visit you and Max! Good to see you running! I bet the thin air is difficult to get used to.
