How is it November?

How is it November? I mean October didn't even have a chance.  Now it's the middle of November and I am going home next week for 6 days for Thanksgiving! We are flying out of PHX on Tuesday the 22nd at noon and will arrive in Cincinnati around 6pm.  Finally I won't be flying alone this year, Cody will be with me.  We are spending 3 nights with my family and then driving up to Dayton to spend 3 days with his family.  This means 3 Thanksgiving meals for us! Oh the joys of having big families :) All I want is a little snow but I highly doubt it will.

If you have been paying attention to my facebook wall I went to Vegas last weekend for Cody's 1/2 Ironman.  He did amazing! We had the best time in Vegas.  I honestly thought I wouldn't like it that much but partying at The Palms with new and old friends was the highlight of that trip. Cody surprised me with tickets to the Dave Matthews Band @ Planet Hollywood with special guest Tim Reynolds.  If any of you listen to DMB you know this a huge deal! What more could I ask for to celebrate my 25th Bday...Vegas and DMB!

I've recently given up milk.  I rarely drank it to begin with but after I realized how it made me feel I decided to give it up.  I gave up yogurt a while ago and the next thing to go is cheese.  I've been trying to follow Paleo (a hunter/gatherer diet). I wouldn't really call it a diet because these are the things we are supposed to be eating.   Basically you eat nothing processed, only things that grow from the ground and meat.  Bread is the one thing I'm struggling to give up but I've been slowly cutting it out.  I've been feeling so much better lately because of my nutritional decisions.  I've also found a Duathlon in February I am 100% doing.  It's a 3.5 mile trail run a 21 mile bike and then another 3.5 mile run.  I love that the run is a trail run.  I would much rather run on dirt around the mountains than on concrete. Cody has gotten me on this whole racing kick.  I thought my desire to be active would start to drop out of college but it has only gotten stronger.

  1. if only i liked this post as much as your duathlon announcement... i would cry if someone took away my milk and cheese. ;) but you're right-- if it makes you feel better, so worth it.
LOVE your birthday surprise from Cody, a perfect gift for you!
