As all of you know photography is my true passion. Having over 10,000 photos on my Mac all shot within 2 years is a sign of infatuation. I have printed photos for friends living rooms, had the beautiful Katie pose for my first published photo for a book, shot Jenn's engagement photos, and I continually update my photoblog. Well I want to do more. I have friends and family members who ask me if they can buy some of my photos so they can hang them in their houses. Well I would love to but I'm still struggling on how to go about this. I know Etsy is a great site to sell goods produced by regular folks. Working for a book publisher was fun but it's what they want you to produce, not what you want. The thing I'm most passionate about is the outdoors. All I want to do with my day is go outside and photograph beautiful things. Wether it's a sunset like this picture above or hiking up a 6,000 foot mountain to get some shots of foggy paths that go on for hundreds of miles. I am at a constant battle trying to figure out how I can start selling my photographs. I have been looking at selling some of my existing photos to magazine companies that buy photos from people to put in their pages. I guess I have my foundation set I just need to dedicate my free time to working on the selling side of things. Working 40 hours a week does make this difficult but who doesn't have multiple jobs these days! Katie if you have any information you would like to share with me about Etsy it would be much appreciated. I started a separate savings account to purchase another camera. The one I have is amazing, I just want to shoot with something bigger! If you have any dreams that you want to reach for in the next few years please share them on here. Having them out in the open instead of just in your own head really helps you put those dreams into motion. Like my dream to open up an outdoors store that sells all hiking gear and has multiple large dogs (Max) running around greeting the guests (this probably won't happen but hey we gotta dream). Dream away ladies!
