Anniversary Weekend.

I have been with the most amazing guy for 4 years.  There is not another guy on the face of this Earth who could make me half as happy as Cody does. You could throw me into the middle of a forest with just a tent and Cody and I swear to you I would still be the happiest girl alive.  With that being said I wanted to celebrate our anniversary in a big way.  I scheduled us for a sunrise hot air ballon ride, we would meet at 4:45am drive to the McDowell Mountains and take off from there.  I managed to keep this surprise from Cody for 3 weeks, yes it was hard! I told him that we had to get up at 4am on Saturday b.c I had a super cool surprise for him, yet when we woke up at 4am it was raining cats and dogs.  Most of you probably know that you can't fly a hot air balloon in the rain but in the Phoenix area it could be raining in one spot and in another be perfectly fine.  So we drove to our location to be told by the pilot that we couldn't go up :(.  I was extremely sad and should have realized that it's monsoon season here in the valley. So we left came home, napped because it was 530am, then went out to breakfast, something we never do.

As the day went on it continued to rain.  We had reservations at the swanky JW Camelback resort, a resort built in 1936 overlooking the beautiful Camelback mountain.  Since I do work for the Marriott company I get ridiculously cheap rates, even for 5 diamond resorts. We went to check in and became informed that our room had been upgraded to an executive two story suite thanks to my boss! This totally turned the day around, we got into our room put on our bathing suites and headed up to the pools. We swam in the rain for about an hour and all of a sudden the clouds parted and the day turned into a beautiful one.  After our delicious meal at one of the resort restaurants, Cody brought out a box filled with Sprinkles cupcakes! He sure knows how to find a way to my heart :) A day might not turn out exactly how you had planned it but if your with the person you love the most you can turn any day around.  We will reschedule our balloon ride further down the road.  He also took one of my favorite pictures from our trip to the Smoky Mnts. and blew it up to a 24x36 frame, I will post pictures of that soon.  He honestly is the best thing that has and will ever happen to me!
